2008 NBA Playoffs

 

Some quick notes on the NBA Playoffs:

I think it’s great that the Atlanta Hawks have tied their series with the Celtics. This series is an example of why we love the playoffs. The intensity and sense of urgency in some teams change when they are playing to keep their seasons alive. It’s great to see teams step up and not give up just because many spectators have written them off. Everyone expected this series to be a sweep for Boston, and why not? It’s the team with the worst record to make the playoffs against the Goliath of the NBA this year. I’m not saying that the Hawks are going to beat the Celtics, but it makes for some competitive and fun basketball, and it’s good for the game.

I have to put my two cents in on the Rockets series also. I am a little disappointed with the results from the last game. I’m not jumping off of the bandwagon, but with that loss, it’s a little more out reach for my team to advance. I don’t usually make excuses for them, but that last call that put Okur on the free throw line was just a horrible call. Players should be allowed to fight for a win in the final seconds of a very significant game. But the refs thought otherwise and now the Rockets are going home down 3-1.

Conference Final:

Lakers-Spurs= Spurs in 6

EAST:

Celtics-Hawks= Celtics in 4

Pistons-Sixers= Pistons in 5

Magic-Raptors= Magic in 4

Cavaliers-Wizards= Cavaliers in 5

Semi Finals:

Celtics-Cavaliers= Celtics in 5

Pistons-Magic= Pistons in 5

Conference Finals:

Celtics-Pistons= Celtics in 6

NBA FINALS:

Celtics-Spurs= Spurs in 6
